Central Texas Verteran's Health Care System is the largest VA in Texas and 4th largest in the country. It is composed of the Olin E. Teague Vertan Center hospital, a 400 bed Domiciliary and the Veteran's State Nursing Home.

Surrounding Cities:

Waco is an easy 43 miles north on Interstate 35. Here you can watch Big 12 Football with the Baylor Bears or experience the exotic animals of Cameron Park Zoo or bring your children to see the mammoth exhibit and 15 hands-on learning rooms at the Mayborn Discovery Museum. Waco also brags of outstanding shopping and institutions of higher learning including TSTC and MCC.

Salado is a charming little village which boasts of innumerable bed and breakfasts and antique stores. An elegant 4 star dinner at one of its several gourmet restaurants will be a nice treat before heading home after a weekend of shopping and relaxing.

Killeen and Ft. Hood are also an easy 30 minute drive away. This is the largest land-based Army Post in the world. This young community is bursting with dining and recreation activities.
